How we select and match tutors.
What happens between your enquiry and your child's first lesson — and what you can ask us to change.
- Matched by curriculum, subject and year group
- Tutor profile shared before you pay
- Safeguarding rules apply to every session
- You can ask for a different tutor
Choosing a tutor online means trusting a process you cannot see. This page sets out ours plainly, so you know what we check, what we share with you, and what happens if the match is not right.
Matching, not allocation
We ask for your child's curriculum, year group, subjects and preferred timings before suggesting anyone. A tutor is proposed only when they regularly teach that curriculum and stage — not simply because a slot is free.
What we check before proposing a tutor
Subject and curriculum experience, a discussion of how they would teach your child's current topic, and their ability to hold the timings your family needs. We also confirm they accept our safeguarding rules in writing.
You see the tutor profile first
We share the proposed tutor's profile with you before any payment is made. If you would rather see an alternative, tell us and we will propose one.
Safeguarding during lessons
Lessons take place on the account we set up, communication about the student runs through Lumivo, and parents may sit in at any time. Full details are on our child safeguarding page.
If the match is not right
Tell us. We will discuss what is not working, and reassign the student to a different tutor where that is the better answer. There is no penalty for asking.
