Child Safeguarding Policy

Every Lumivo student is a child between LKG and Grade 8. Keeping them safe online comes before everything else we do, including teaching.

Last updated: 27 July 2026

Our commitment

Lumivo is committed to providing an online learning space where children are treated with respect, are never left alone with an unverified adult, and where any concern raised by a child or a parent is taken seriously and acted on.

Who teaches your child

  • Tutors are interviewed and reference-checked before they teach, and are matched to a student by grade, subject and availability.
  • Tutors provide identity documents to Lumivo and, where available in their country, a police or background clearance certificate.
  • Every tutor agrees in writing to this safeguarding policy and to a code of conduct before their first class.

How classes are run

  • Classes take place on scheduled links shared with the parent, not on a tutor's personal account.
  • Cameras stay on for the tutor throughout the class.
  • Parents may observe any class at any time without asking in advance.
  • Tutors never arrange a class outside the agreed schedule and platform.

Communication rules

  • All communication with a family goes through Lumivo's official WhatsApp number and email address.
  • Tutors must not contact a student privately, add a student on personal social media, or exchange personal contact details.
  • Any message to a student is sent to, or copied to, the parent.
  • Photographs or recordings of a child are never taken or shared without written parent consent.

Behaviour we do not allow

  • Shouting at, humiliating, mocking or threatening a child.
  • Any physical, sexual, emotional or discriminatory abuse, or any grooming behaviour.
  • Discussing content that is not appropriate for the child's age.
  • Asking a child for money, gifts, favours or personal information about the family.

Reporting a concern

  • Parents and students can report anything that felt wrong, however small, on WhatsApp at +973 3344 4038 or by email at info@lumivoacademy.com.
  • We acknowledge every safeguarding report within 24 hours.
  • The tutor concerned is suspended from teaching that child, and from other classes where appropriate, while we look into it.
  • We keep the parent informed of the outcome, and we do not ask a child to repeat their account unnecessarily.

Escalation to authorities

Where we believe a child is at risk of harm, we will report the matter to the relevant local authorities and cooperate fully with them. We will do this even where a family asks us not to, because a child's safety takes priority over confidentiality.

What parents can do

  • Keep classes in a shared family space rather than behind a closed door.
  • Check in with your child about how the class felt, not only what they learned.
  • Tell us straight away if your child seems uncomfortable with a tutor. You may request a different tutor at any time, for any reason.

Review

This policy is reviewed at least once a year and whenever an incident shows us something we need to change.
